Description

I think i went a bit over board with the markings.... .__.

anyway, this is my spyro OC xD

The style was hugely inspired by Spyro-and-cynder-fan xD as you may tell by the hind legs.

I''ve been practicing scene hair a lot and I'm quite happy with how it came out.

Clearly there are many mistakes with this but oh well.

It looks like a dog >:l

crits welcome, although i can see most of the mistakes just can't be bothered to fix them xD

So I decided to critique because no one else has *evil laugh*

Let's get straight to it then...

On first look it looks absolutely fine, there are no obvious errors to the viewer who isn't critiqing, if that makes any ounce of sense...

So, vision (I swear these have changed since I last critiqued):
It looks nice, the colours don't clash, apart from the fact that there are three different colours of sort of purple. But that isn't obvious looking at the whole piece and if it is (eg the hair, a dark and a light purple) it actually looks nice, so ignore what I said a bit. Ermm.
The bows work nicely and stand out in the hair and on the tail. The earphones work with the hair, and the legwarmer works with the earphones, to make a sort of... look. Not sure what type of look, but it looks quite trendy actually.
Looking in detail there are mistakes, for instance, the legs are quite chunky compared with that little thin body. The feet/paws/whatever they are on dragons are big too (if you don't include them with the legs) but isn't that kind of like when puppies are first growing, if they are going to be big dogs their paws are huge? Also it might be a feature on her particular dragon species. But there isn't enough information to know so we have to assume that the legs and paws are simply too big. I personally like the horns but they look a little 2D compared with the dragon itself, as do the ear pieces on the earphones.

Originality:
Dragons are nothing new, nor is scene hair, nor striped or spots, or bows, but as no two designs can ever be the same unless they are copied, it still is original. The pose has probably been used a lot but it is done relatively well.

Technique:
Looking very closely, I can't tell if there is any shading, and if there is, where the lights is coming from. There is no detail of scales so let's just assume it's a skin dragon. The hair looks sort of like hair from a distance and the smudge effect works well with your style. The wings being sort of floaty makes it look quite cute and they look relatively realistic. Your material folds have got better and you have always been better at drawing them on legwarmers than anything else. The earphones could be better, they look like real earphones but not fashionably real earphones, and I get the impression that Muse is a fashionable dragon. You know those earphones everyone at school has? [link] They quite a nice shape of earphone, try using that sort of thing next time maybe?

Impact:
Still not sure what the hell this is so I give you 5 stars out of randomness.

Overall very good for a ref <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>
